What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser to remember preferences, keep you signed in, measure how the site is used, and serve advertising. Arthlens uses a small number of them, grouped into four categories.

1. Essential cookies

These keep the site functioning: remembering your country/locale choice, whether you've accepted the cookie banner, and progress through the guided check. Without them, the site wouldn't work reliably. These cookies are always on.

2. Analytics cookies (with consent)

We may use analytics cookies to understand, in aggregate, which guides are read, how readers arrive, and where the site is slow or confusing. We do not use analytics to identify individuals. You can decline these in the cookie banner.

3. Advertising cookies (with consent)

Arthlens uses Google AdSense, which may set cookies to show ads and measure performance. Third-party advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

4. Social cookies

If you choose to share a guide on a social platform, that platform may set its own cookies when you click the share button. These are governed by that platform's own privacy policy.

Managing cookies

  • Use our cookie banner to accept or decline non-essential categories.
  • Clear site data in your browser at any time to reset stored cookies.
  • Browsers let you block all cookies or only third-party cookies — see your browser's help pages.

Changes

When we materially update this policy, we change the "Last updated" date and, for subscribers, describe the change in a scheduled email. See also our Privacy Policy.
